The Role - Sales / Sourcing Specialist
The Location - Lexington, MA
PURPOSE:
As a key member of the site sales and management team, this position supports sales through maintaining proper inventory levels and driving the bid and quote process for the market. Also, expedites the order process to meet the seasonal demands of site replenishment. As the primary liaison between the corporate sourcing group and the market, this position identifies product needs, ensures on-time deliveries of incoming products and accurately monitors order status between suppliers and the market.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Supports the initial stocking and replenishment of market needs.

Drives bid and quotes; product identification and costing.
-
Sources, negotiates and secures products that are part of the local buy.

Reviews and evaluates current inventories and commitments against pre-set objectives.

Supports market pricing function.

Creates purchase orders, receivers, signs, tags and labels for SiteOne sales and service centers and ensures data accuracy.

Coordinates and schedules all direct shipments for market.

Ensures center inventory objectives are met and help maintain an 'in stock position' with key product lines.

Involvement with key accounts in support of sales function.

Supports other key functions of site operations as necessary.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Solid analytical and organizational skills; ability to work under stressful seasonal demands.

Assertive 'hands on' approach with the ability to communicate and problem solve with vendors and internal clients.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work in adverse weather conditions; both heat and cold.

Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance (occasionally, regularly, routinely, throughout the course of the work day).

Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the body mechanics associated with safe lifting techniques and knowledge of principles of strain & sprain prevention.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

5-7 years industry experience preferably in sales or sales support.

3-5 years of related nursery purchasing experience

Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus.

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture.
