SiteOne Landscape Supply is the nation’s largest distributor of nursery, irrigation, outdoor lighting, landscape supplies, fertilizers, turf protection products, grass seed, turf care equipment, and golf course accessories and golf course accessories.
We are seeking an experienced Agronomic Sales Representative with a strong agronomic background for our team in San Jose, CA area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the existing and potential customer base within assigned markets and/or accounts: communicates and manages company sales and marketing programs to existing and potential customers within the assigned area or market.
- Supports the efforts of John Deere Golf to secure and grow golf customer business via assistance with prospect/customer bundling programs, sales proposals and presentations.
- Assists with internal and external product training, trouble shooting, service issues, etc., as needed.
- Maintains consistent communication with the local branch and area management team.
- Maintains knowledge and awareness of the competition, key competitor employees, market size, market conditions, trends, and pricing. Provides market-based feedback to management team on specific program and pricing needs.
- Supports the industry through participation at local chapter meetings and events and develops strong working relationship with local suppliers.
- Supports the efforts of the Commercial Lead Services (CLS) department in job lead management.
- Assists the Credit Department in procuring necessary customer information in order to facilitate sales.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a business/management discipline or equivalent experience.
- Degree in an agricultural sciences discipline or equivalent experience.
- One to three years of industry specific experience.
- One to three years experience managing accounts locally, regionally or nationally.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the turfgrass industry, products, customers, markets and competitors.
- Demonstrated sales and marketing skills.
- Basic computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with strong communication, organizational and negotiation skills.
